Llandrindod Wells gym fined and ordered to shut for opening during lockdown

A GYM in Llandrindod Wells has been issued with a fine and been ordered to close for continuing to open during lockdown.

Powys County Council says that Nick’s Gym has been issued with the fixed penalty notice and a compliance notice after continuing to open contrary to Covid-19 legislation.

The gym, based on Dole Road Industrial Estate, was ordered to close immediately.

On December 20 the Welsh Government ordered all gym and leisure facilities to close as part of the ‘Alert 4’ national lockdown introduced to curb the spread of coronavirus in Wales.

No date has been set for the lifting of the lockdown conditions.

Indoor fitness studios, gyms, spas or other indoor leisure centres or facilities must remain closed under the current legislation.
