Police warning for flytippers as Elan Valley remains closed

FLYTIPPING is not typically an issue in the picturesque Elan Valley, but Dyfed Powys Police officers on patrol in the area came across a large pile of rubbish on Tuesday (March 16).

Radnorshire Police warned that the area is not a local tip, while the Elan Valley Estate have said the area remains closed despite an easing of lockdown restrictions by the Welsh Government.

Radnorshire Police tweeted: “While patrolling the Elan Valley today, came across this pile of…This is not the local tip. Please use your local recycling centre which is not the

@elan valley.”

Despite Covid-19 travel restrictions easing from ‘stay at home’ to ‘stay local’ last Friday, March 12, the Elan Valley is not back open for businesses.

They tweeted on Friday: “Elan Valley remains closed in line with today’s Welsh Government announcement.

“We will update our position in line with future government reviews. Thank you for your ongoing support: together we will keep the local community and Wales safe.”
