Jailed man damaged mother’s home in Crossgates

A PRISONER already serving a two-and-a-half year jail term has had further time added to his sentence for causing damage at his mum’s Radnorshire home.

Bradley Robert Steven James appeared via video link at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 16, where he admitted two charges of criminal damage.

The two charges relate to damaging fencing and a car belonging to his mum Michelle James, who lives in Crossgates, on August 16 this year.

The 21-year-old received a 30-month prison sentence at Warwick Crown Court on October 6 for offences of robbery and possessing a bladed article.

Prosecutor Stephen Davies said: “Michelle James is the defendant’s mum. She was at her home address on the evening. The defendant rarely contacts his mum, but did on this occasion, but she didn’t want to let him in.

“He then damaged a trellised fence and her vehicle, kicking out at the bumper. It frightened her and other people at the address. Police were called and the defendant admitted he’d done it. He said he had done it out of frustration.”

James, of Glynaeron, Llangeitho, Ceredigion, made no statement in his defence.Magistrates ordered him to serve seven days custody for each offence, which will run concurrently to his prison term and to pay a £128 surcharge.
