NINJAS have struck in Llandrindod Wells, but evidence shouldn’t be too hard to find as they planted it themselves.
Rather than of a trail of destruction the night-time ninjas simply left a trail of sunflower seeds behind instead.
A box containing packets of sunflower seeds and instructions to “turn the town a sunny yellow” were left at the town’s bandstand overnight sometime earlier this month by a group calling themselves #NinjaSunflowers with the #LlandrindodLoveliness hash tag also used.
The packets of seeds sprung up overnight between April 1-2 in the bandstand, in the Temple Gardens area of the spa town, accompanied by bright signs and banners and a message saying: “Brought to you FREE by #LlandrindodLoveliness. Sunflower seeds to turn the town a sunny yellow. Share your pics using #NinjaSunflowers.”
However they got there, the kind-hearted April Fool’s Day stunt already seems to have sprouted some positivity with people taking the seeds and posting some pictures and bright messages on social media.
Llandrindod Wells Town Council wrote on their Facebook page: “The good people of Llandrindod have left a treat for you at the bandstand, these are to help to brighten up Llandrindod.
“Please pop along and take a packet of sunflower seeds and share this post with your friends.
Such a lovely gesture, thank you to the Sunflower Bunnies.”
Steve Horwood added: “Morning lovely Llandrindod – someone’s been busy last night…looks like we can all have free sunflowers to brighten up our summer #thankyou #ninjas.”
Local resident Flo Greaves was one of many people to take the ninjas up on their generous offer, posting pictures with excited young family members.
“Spring has sprung, and we were happy to find some surprise seeds at the bandstand today. Thanks #LlandrindodLoveliness.Time to get sowing #NinjaSunflowers.”
